In 2015 Edgar and I launched BonFire Records, our independent record label. As BonFire grew, we experienced first-hand the cost, struggle and inefficiencies of processing royalties and providing financial tools to our artists. Indie labels are run by music lovers, and artist projects are run by, well, artists. We are A&R experts and guitarists, not royalty accountants. With Habitat we set out to provide the independent industry with the royalty processing and financial management tools we wish we had early on at BonFire Records. Our mission is to help indies pay their artists faster and more transparently, while keeping the cost of doing so as low as we can.
